The Next People You Meet in Heaven highlights and annotations
Known as one of the best-selling book series (a sequel to The Five People You Meet in Heaven), it finally reveals Annie's story, from her childhood to her nursing work in a hospital-- and even the wedding before the sudden death.
I do love how Mitch Albom illustrates the reconnection between Pablo and Annie well-- especially in their love relationship. They both found happiness for the rest of life, being married and living together as a family. Unfortunately, the catastrophe, the hot air balloon ride, steals one of the couple's life, which makes me feel pretty unpleasant.
Annie is my favorite character, the protagonist of this sequel. I sympathize with her depression from her lifetime: being a high school outcast, having her left hand reattached by needles, and struggling with her physical and mental issues. I see her trying her best to cope with such obstacles, in order to have peace.
A very touching story, but also "emotional damage"
